For the first time, osteointegrative surgery took place in Kyiv

The operation was performed by the famous Swedish orthopedic surgeon Rikard Branemark and the Ukrainian orthopedic surgeon Oleksandr Galuzynskyi.

The technology of osteointegrative prosthetics is quite complex, since the prosthesis is implanted in the bone that remained after the amputation. The innovation of this method is that the surgical titanium implant implanted in the bone provides a direct connection with the prosthesis.

Thanks to this, patients receive a completely new level of movement control. Osseointegration allows you to avoid the typical problems that arise after amputation: soreness of the stump (the part of the limb that remains after the operation), excessive sweating, lack of stability when using a conventional prosthesis, which leads to difficulties during rehabilitation.
