Cellular therapy

Stem cells are cells-predecessors, able to differentiate different types of cells and facilitate regeneration of tissues.  Most of them are concentrated in the red marrow. Mesenchymal stem cells could naturally transform themselves into connective, bone, and cartilage tissues.

Cartilage tissue of a human body has very low capacity to independent recovery. Untreated inflammation sources, even the small ones, could later cause arthritis and require surgical treatment, joint replacement and long rehabilitation process.

Long thorough studies have revealed that human fat tissue contains many mesenchymal-type stem cells (according to some scholars, they almost 100 times exceed those in the bone marrow).

A stromal-vascular fraction (SVF) is a mixture of stem cells, intracellular matrix, pericytes, and other cells.  This fraction can stimulate the specific regeneration of damaged structures of a joint (i.e. works in the damaged areas).

To obtain the stromal-vascular fraction, one should mechanically detach a patient’s fat tissue, prepare a suspense and administer it into the damaged joints. The whole procedure takes about 1 hour and could be carried out on an outpatient basis.

To administer the fraction into the joint, a surgeon applied a method of puncture with a needle. After the procedure, the patient can return to the regular way of life.

Indications to SVF-therapy

✔️ Chondromalacia

Deforming hip and knee arthritis:

✔️ I stage

✔️ II stage

✔️ Degenerative diseases of other joints

✔️ Trauma injuries of cartilage

✔️ Damaged menisci

✔️ Aseptic necrosis of I-ІІ stage

and many other disorders.

The recovery takes about 12 months. For the best result, patients have to:

✔️ Control their body weight (diet, healthy eating)

✔️ Do dedicated complex of recovery exercises

✔️ Follow physician’s individual recommendations

✔️ Pass a control examination each 3 months

Cellular therapy

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Plasma is a liquid portion of blood. It mainly contains of water and proteins. Platelets are bone cells ensuring the maximum speed of healing at the account of growth factors and other substances required for regeneration. Platelets activation plays the key role in the natural healing process. For instance, their work is visible when bleeding quickly stops after occasional cutting a finger.

Using this method, we intentionally administer the platelet-enriched plasma into the required place. This ensure the fastest possible effect of the procedure – reduces inflammation and accelerates regeneration.

Indications for the method:

✔️ Arthrosis of large and small joints;

✔️ Consequences of traumas to tendons and ligaments;

✔️ Spine disorders (osteochondrosis, intravertebral disc injury);

✔️ Damaged ligaments, tendons, articular capsule and muscles (tears, ruptures, sprains);

✔️ Other musculoskeletal traumas and diseases (from epicondylitis to plantar fasciitis called a heel spur);

✔️ Sport traumas, overtraining syndromes;

✔️ Fast rehabilitation after surgical operations;

This method is efficient for chronic and often traumas, sport overloading, the pathologies associated with the inflammation of the tendon attachment areas – the so-called tennis elbow, golf elbow, runner’s knee, swimmer’s shoulder.

The method is completely safe, because it applies the patient’s own blood plasma enriched with platelets.

Results after a course of PRP therapy:

✔️ Blood supply activation about the injured joint;

✔️ Enhanced nutrients supply to the joint cartilage;

✔️ Recovery of synovial fluid production;

✔️ Increase range of motions of the joint;

✔️ Significantly shorter rehabilitation after traumas, surgical operations on the joint.

Description of the procedure?

Physician takes a small amount of blood (20 ml) from the patient’s elbow vein. A special centrifuge splits the blood into layers. One of these layers, platelet-rich plasma, is collected with a syringe and administered into the pathological area.

The plasma’s concentrated biologically active factors stimulate healing and recovery processes. Clinical results confirm the increased range of motions of the joint and simultaneous decrease of pain.

Results of the PRP therapy become perceivable in several weeks; long-term effects are reported in 6-12 months

Immediately after the therapy, a patient may encounter with inflammation, rigidness and pain of the affected joint, associated with the active regeneration process. In some time, patients demonstrate less and less pain, more mobile joint, more elastic tendons and better protective feature of their articular cartilage.

Frequency of the procedures?

In the majority of cases, the intervention shall take place each two weeks. For some patients, a single procedure can be enough, but as a rule, there should be 2-3 of them.
